Excelsior Yacht Gloss Varnish – Mahogany EXCWVMA1 is an alkyd-based, marine-grade solvent varnish specially formulated for interior and exterior timber surfaces (excluding floors). It's designed to combine the functions of stain and varnish in one product, providing rich color enhancement and durable protection.

Key Features:

• Color & Finish: Deep mahogany tone with a high-gloss finish.

• UV & Weather Resistance: Offers excellent protection against sunlight, moisture, and humidity—perfect for boats, exterior trim, doors, and furniture 

• Composition: Alkyd resin base for a hard, durable coat.

• Coverage: Approximately 10–12 m² per litre

• Suggested Coats: Apply 2–4 coats for optimal protection and finish 

• Drying Time: Touch-hard within ~16 hours; recoat after about 16 hours 

• Application: Suitable for brushing, spraying, or rolling. Clean up with mineral turpentine/thinners.

Usage Tips:

• Designed for non‑floor timber surfaces—ideal for mahogany brightwork, trim, furniture, and yacht interiors/exteriors.

• Stir thoroughly before use, apply thin layers, lightly sand between coats (ideally 320‑400 grit), and allow full curing to build a glossy, protective finish.

• Not recommended for floors.

🛠️ Application & Maintenance Advice

1. Surface Prep: Sand down to bare wood (~150‑180 grit), clean dust thoroughly.

2. Coating: Apply 2–4 thin coats, allowing ~16 hours between coats, and sand lightly after each for optimal adhesion and smoothness.

3. Longevity: Expect the varnish to maintain gloss and protection for 1–3 years; exterior applications may require annual maintenance coats depending on sun exposure and climate.
