Excelsior Yacht Gloss Varnish – Light Oak is a marine-grade, alkyd-based varnish–stain hybrid crafted for interior and exterior timber surfaces (excluding floors). It merges color enhancement and protection in one formula, offering durability and aesthetic appeal in a single application. 

Key Features:

• Colour & Finish: Light oak tone with a high‑gloss finish, delivering warmth and clarity to the wood grain.

• Weather & UV Resistance: Engineered for intense sunlight, moisture, and humid environments—ideal for marine and outdoor use.

• Premium Composition: Alkyd resin base ensures a solid, resilient coat with strong adhesion.

• Coverage: Approximately 10–12 m² per litre, typical of yacht-grade varnishes. Recommended Coats: 2–4 thin coats give optimal protection and gloss. 

• Drying & Recoat Times: Touch‑dry in ~16 hours; ready for recoating after ~16 hours. 

• Application: Suitable for brush, spray, or roller application. Tools clean up with mineral turpentine. 

✅ Ideal Use & Best Practices

1. Suitable Surfaces
   Great for yacht brightwork, trim, doors, furniture, and exposed wood—but not for flooring.

2. Preparation & Application

   • Sand to bare wood (150–180 grit), remove dust.

   • Stir thoroughly, apply thin coats, and allow ~16 h drying between coats.

   • Lightly sand (320–400 grit) between coats to build a smooth, glossy finish. 

3. Maintenance Tips
   Marine-grade varnishes typically last 1–3 years in outdoor settings. Touch-ups or re-coating may be needed annually, depending on exposure. Quick maintenance involves light sanding followed by one to two fresh coats.
